For Long Trips - Choose a 3 Color Wardrobe

My system for packing for a long trip ( more than 10 days) is to choose three colors. For instance, red, white and black. Have every item interchangable with the others. White top with black pants; red skirt with black top, etc. If you can find a print with those 3 colors, great. Have one pair of pants, one long skirt and one jacket so you can be dressy or sporty. Try to buy a lot of these at a $10 store. THE PLAN IS - the last four days of your trip, leave what you had on in the hotel room or Salvation Army box. You will be sick of them anyway. This way your suitcase is freed up to bring home souvenirs or it will just be lighter and no worry about weight restrictions.
