I travel quite often to and from Canada and U.S. I don't use a particular brand of luggage but like my "carry on" to be as light as possible. If it is heavy to start, it's going to be awkward to handle after it's packed...and being a senior lady usually travelling by myself, I've been fortunate there are kind gentlemen often ready to assist in putting it in the overhead storage. When possible I check all but a small carry-on. What I "can't live without" would be make up, a book to read on the plane and wait times in the airports. One tip is to put small items inside your shoes...saves space.
