The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong is an icon in Kowloon overlooking Victoria Harbour. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Peninsula opened in 1928, making it Hong Kong's most historic and famous hotel.

All you need to do is take a step into the magnificent lobby to see why it was voted as the world's best hotel more than once. If you are looking for an experience of luxury and want to feel a part of history when you stay in Hong Kong, this would be the hotel property to choose.

Even if you choose to stay somewhere else, make sure that you visit the Peninsula for High Tea in the lobby (a must do in Hong Kong) or for a drink on the roof top bar. Just make sure you are wearing slacks or trousers as we were turned away for a drink at the rooftop bar for wearing shorts.

Tripadvisor reviewers place it as the #6 hotel in Hong Kong to stay in with over 500 reviews.

Accommodation Options

I am impressed at how the Peninsula has managed to stay up to date with their decor, while still maintaining the historic and nostalgic feel. You will find top of the line technology (for example TVs in the bathroom overlooking the tub), high ceilings, complimentary wireless broadband, a push button entertainment facility, comfortable beds, and the luxury amenities that you would expect to enjoy. With a wide variety of accommodation options, you can choose from a standard hotel room with city views, to a suite with a sitting area and beautiful views of Victoria Harbour, to the luxurious Peninsula Suite at the very top of the tower with panoramic views and luxury you can only imagine.

As Hong Kong is a busy city, there can be quite a lot of noise early in the morning as people go about their day, so if you want a quiet morning, request a room on a higher floor.

Book the Airport Pick Up Package

If you are looking for a real treat, or just ease in getting to your hotel after a long flight from Hong Kong, book the Airport transfer package with the Peninsula. The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong has a fleet of 14 Rolls Royce Phantoms, in the Peninsula's signature green colour, to pick you up or take you around town in. They will send a greeter with to meet you before immigration and take you through the process, where you will meet your chauffeur. Once settled in you can sit back and enjoy the luxury and ride to the beautiful Peninsula hotel.

The Hotel Lobby Set up for Breakfast

The hotel lobby is the place to enjoy High Tea or Breakfast. Even if you are not staying at the Peninsula, make sure you enjoy High Tea the British way.
