25 years ago, the Petit Champlain Quarter was considered to be a slum. It was the last place that you would want to visit. The buildings were abandoned, then a couple of developers started to fix up the buildings and invited many artists to come and live and work here.
Look out for the little church on Place Royale as it was featured in a scene in the movie "Catch Me if You Can" with Leonardo D’Caprio and Tom Hanks
They keep on high concentration on the shop that you cannot find elsewhere.
You will find many different kinds of shops and items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. The quality of their products is excellent and you will find stores that sell products that are only made in Quebec
Many visitors find the place fascinating because of the unique European atmosphere in North America. You will recognize the European flavor in the architecture that was influenced by the early settlers - the French, and the British throughout the city
You will find that another part of town, Saint Roch is more modern, has a different vibe and can be compared to London, where as the older parts, like the Petit Champlain Quarter is more like Paris
