Times Square New York - The Crossroads of the world! Times Square is my absolute favorite place in New York City.
I love it's vibrant and amazing spirit and chaos. It is recognizable all over the world for it's bright lights and of course for the New Year's Eve ball drop.
You can dine in fantastic restaurants, shop till you drop, catch a movie
or just sit and watch the people and all the activity! It is the home of Broadway, MTV,
ABC, Toys 'R Us, NASDAQ, and hundreds of popular stores.
Times Square New York is a constantly changing attraction. The massive billboards are updated frequently making a different view each time you visit. New stores pop up and of course Broadway changes it's productions frequently. This makes is a "come back to" attraction in NYC. It is a different experience in the daytime verses the night. So make sure you plan to visit it at both times of day.
Recently, the City of New York closed Times Square to traffic so a big area of it is pedestrian only. This has really made it a big meeting area. You will find Good Morning America (ABC) filming outside on a nice day and you may find MTV filming there too.
It is a great place for a romantic or a family vacation, continue on to see some great New York Vacation Ideas!

Spending an evening in Times Square can be one of the most romantic evenings of your vacation.
Start with a lovely dinner, how about the steakhouse The Palm (yum), then wander through the shops on your way to your theater for a Broadway show. You could choose a revival like West Side Story or maybe go for a classic like Chicago.

Then have a quiet coffee and one of the amazing desserts in Carnegie Deli.
Then spend some time cuddling by the Tkt's Booth Bleachers and watch the people go by. Take a few minutes and get a caricature done to remember your romantic evening, or purchase a photograph from a street vendor.
Don't forget to take a minute to admire your sweetheart in the bright lights of the neon signs and banners that make Times Square all that it is! Top the night off with a horse and carriage ride, or Pedi cab ride back to your hotel.
For our 10th wedding anniversary dinner (we spent it with Montana in NYC) we had a lovely evening at Swing 46. It was a great Jazz and Supper Club. We had a scrumptious dinner and a swing dance lesson. Then a big band played for the evening, had a dance or two and then went for a walk through Times Square.

Then how about a tour through the Toys R Us Store and a spin on the Ferris Wheel. Then over to 42nd street to see Mary Poppins, or watch the latest movie at the AMC or Regal Theaters.

One word of advice - keep your kids close as it can be quite chaotic!
