Travel Power Converter for Areas of the World

Are you travelling abroad and are unsure of what travel converter you will need to use? Or if you will need one at all?

Each country in the world has either 110 V (like the USA) or 220 V like in Europe. If your appliance or electronics are made for 110 V and you take it to Europe or Australia (which uses 220V) then chances are you won't be able to use that electronic appliance while you are visiting that country. Or vice versa.

Now most newer cameras and laptops have dual voltage which means that it can be powered by either 110 V or 220V. If this is the case then all you will need is an adapter (a plug that fits your appliance on one side and the wall on the other).

However, if you need to actually transform the power from 110 V to 220 V or 220 V to 110 V then you will need a converter. Below is a list of converters that can be used in the area of the world that it covers.

Don't ruin or melt your electronics. I actually melted the back of a portable CD player in Australia once. (you can see how long ago that was - can you even buy a portable CD player anymore?) We also had friends in Europe bring a Wii with them and mess up the power converter by plugging it in without realizing that they needed a converter for it.

I have also had to go an entire week in Amsterdam without a curling iron or flatiron as I totally forgot to bring a converter and couldn't find one when I arrived. So plan ahead and make sure you have the right travel power converter.
