City Center in Las Vegas

City Center is so large that they have built a Tram to take you from the Monte Carlo/Mandarin Oriental/Aria to the Crystals Shopping Mall to the Bellagio and Vdara.

The tram really adds to the City Center experience. MGM Mirage's vision was to have an urban development where people could live, work and play. The tram adds to this by giving you a way to get from one end of the complex to the other.

It takes about 6 minutes to travel from end to end and runs from 8 am to 4 am everyday.

I decided to take the tram when I wanted to visit the Bellagio Conservatory. Here is a video I took so you can get an idea of how modern and sleek the Tram is.

City Center Las Vegas Restaurants

It seems like all the famous chefs have opened restaurants in City Center Las Vegas - mainly in the Aria.

Some of the Casual dining options include:

  • Lemongrass - Thai cuisine with what looked like a nice Satay bar.
  • The Buffet - which looked quite grand
  • SkyBox Sports Bar and Grill - American cuisine with HD TV's everywhere
  • Cafe Vettro - great casual and contemporary food with floor to ceiling windows with views of the Vdara
  • Jean Philippe Patisserie - Incredible looking pastries and cakes - it was extremely busy in the morning - and the cakes were beautiful.
  • Sweet Chill - Gourmet Ice creams and sorbets
  • Tod English P.U.B. - A great American type pub with awesome Kobe Hot dogs and Lobster rolls

Some of the Fine Dining options include:

  • Barmasa: Chef Masa - Japanese delicacies
  • Shaboo: Omakase-style dining
  • Sage: American Cuisine
  • Julian Serrano: Small Plates and Hot TapasLas Vegas City Center
  • Jean-Georges Steakhouse - Traditional American Steakhouse with a dose of energy
  • Sirio Restorante: Both Contemporary and Traditional Italian - YUMMY!
  • American Fish: Michael Mina's Fish House - inspired by American's Great Lakes, rivers and coasts
  • Blossom: Chinese Cuisine
  • Union Restaurant & Lounge

We dined at Sirio the evening that we saw Viva Elvis. Sirio was recommended by one of the great cocktail waitresses in the Baccarat Room.

It was an amazing suggestion and we really enjoyed it. Here is our review of Sirio Restorante.

We also ate breakfast 2 mornings at the Cafe Vettro of the Aria Hotel. It was really good and we will return on a future trip. I had a spectacular lox and cream cheese although I did have to order more cream cheese to finish it.

***Please note that the Elvis Cirque du Soleil Show at the Aria Resort and Casino will end it's run by the end of 2012. It will have had a 2 year run and entertained over 1 million guests during it's production.***
